"The Place Setting: Cups, Bowls, & Plates" Online Workshop
January 29th 11am - 2pm MST

This three-hour long workshop, hosted on the zoom platform, will cover plates, bowls, and cups, in addition to combining them to create place settings. Demonstrations will include throwing and trimming dinner plates, soup/salad size bowls, tumblers, and mugs. I will also demonstrate pulling a handle and attaching it to a cup. Emphasis will be put on making utilitarian dishes that function well, as well as considering the sculptural aspect of stacking pots to create a place setting. Next, we will consider the way place settings come together on the table to create a larger dinnerware set. Hosted on the Zoom platform, the class will be geared toward observation. Participants are encouraged to go back and try the techniques in their home studio later. Participate during the scheduled time and/or learn from viewing the recording later.
